London (Special Correspondent) The management of Hounslow Jamia Mosque and Islamic Centre Trust in West London has strongly rejected recent allegations circulating on social media, describing them as baseless and part of a misleading campaign aimed at creating division within the community.
In a joint press conference, Mosque Committee Chairman Raja Javaid and General Secretary Shafiq ur Rehman stated that a coordinated effort was underway to spread misinformation against the mosque administration.
They said some individuals were attempting to link unrelated incidents with the mosque, despite the administration’s continued commitment to law, transparency, and community harmony.
According to the committee, following the 2024 trustee elections, certain individuals have persistently engaged in negative social media activity, which has contributed to growing tension and division within the local community.
Chairman Raja Javaid said the mosque trust would pursue all legal avenues to protect its reputation and ensure that facts are brought before the public.
General Secretary Shafiq ur Rehman added that the mosque administration is fully cooperating with the Charity Commission and other relevant authorities, and will continue to ensure transparency in all matters.
A press statement issued by the trust further stated that the mosque has faced a series of unverified allegations and social media campaigns over the past year. However, after a detailed internal review, the management concluded that the claims were unfounded.
The mosque committee has urged the community to avoid believing unverified information and social media rumours, calling instead for unity, brotherhood, and mutual respect.
